Deleting your data
Last updated 7 September 2026
Most of what Doorman holds is on your phone, so most of it you can delete yourself, immediately, without asking us.
On your phone, right now
Clear the history
Open Doorman, go to Settings, and choose Delete history. This removes every record of a screened call and everything the door held, at once. It does not need a network connection and it does not tell us you did it.
Or let it expire
Under Settings you can set how long records are kept: 7, 30 or 90 days. Anything older is deleted when the app next starts.
Or uninstall
Removing Doorman removes its database, its settings, and the Do Not Disturb rule it created, because Android deletes all of an app's own storage when the app goes. Nothing is left behind on the phone, and nothing was ever copied off it.
On our servers
You only have server-side data if you used the Line, the paid feature where a number we operate answers calls for you. If you never used it, there is nothing of yours on our servers to delete.
Ask us to delete it
Email privacy@mydoorman.app from any address, and include the device identifier shown at the bottom of Doorman's Settings screen. We do not need, and will not ask for, your name or your phone number to do this.
We will confirm within 7 days and complete the deletion within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Every record of a call or message the Line handled for you, including the caller's number, the time and the stated reason.
- Your account row, including your device identifier and your own phone number if you gave it to us so the Line could reach you.
- Any permissions, allowances and blocks you created.
- Any pending notifications waiting to reach your phone.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things survive a deletion request, and neither is a record of who contacts you.
- Payment records, which are held by Google Play rather than by us. We never had your card details and cannot delete a record we do not hold. Google's own retention applies, and tax law requires transaction records to be kept for several years.
- Call detail records held by our telephone carrier, which exist because a call was carried across the public telephone network. Every telephone company keeps these, we do not control them, and they are retained under that carrier's own obligations.
Records that have already expired under your retention setting are gone before you ask, which is the point of a short default.
Cancelling a subscription is not deletion
Cancelling the Line stops the billing and releases the number. It does not by itself erase the records above, so if you want those gone as well, email us. Equally, deleting your data does not cancel a subscription: do that in the app, or in Google Play.
