Terms

Last updated 7 September 2026

Three things are on sale, and they are priced differently on purpose.

What you get, and what it costs

Screening — free, permanently

Doorman screens calls to your own number, holds the ones you did not invite, and shows each with the reason. This is free and stays free. It is not a limited tier and it does not expire.

The Door — $9.99, paid once

Texts and app notifications are held silently, and everything that knocked is written down. One payment, not a subscription. There is nothing to cancel and no renewal. It runs on your phone and costs us nothing per month, so charging you every month would be charging you for nothing.

You get 14 days free from installing, with no card and no sign-up. When those days end, nothing is charged automatically.

If you do not pay, your door opens. Doorman holds your messages by closing Do Not Disturb on your own phone. Leaving that shut after a trial ends would hold your texts silent until you paid, so we release it instead. You lose the feature. You never lose your messages. This is enforced in the code and covered by its tests.

The Line — $5.99 a month, not yet released

A phone number we operate and answer, so calls you do not pick up are handled rather than left in your voicemail. This one recurs because it costs us money every month: we rent a real phone number for you and pay for every call it answers.

If a subscription lapses, the number is released and the feature stops. Screening and, if you bought it, the Door both keep working.

The Line is not finished and cannot be bought yet. It is described here because these terms will govern it when it ships, and because we would rather publish the price early than surprise anyone with it later.

How we will bill you

What Doorman does not promise

Reasonable use

Doorman is for your own personal use, on numbers you control. Do not use it to intercept communications intended for someone else, and do not use the Line for anything unlawful.

Liability

Doorman is provided as it is. We do not warrant that every wanted call, message or notification will always reach you, because telephone networks, carriers and Android itself are not under our control. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the previous twelve months. Nothing here limits any right you have that cannot be limited by law.

Changes and contact

If these terms change in a way that affects what you bought, we will say so in the app. Questions: hello@mydoorman.app.
